Highlighting the tailor-made hair journey.

L'ORÉAL DARK & LOVELY–PROTECTIVE STYLES
Role: Art Director, Key Art Designer
Agency: 19th & Park Inc.

OBJECTIVE–
Develop an insight-driven go-to-market approach for Dark & Lovely Protective Styles, designed to attract and engage Gen Z and Millennial consumers.

I helped concept the #UnderneathItAll tagline, shaping the campaign’s strategic and visual direction. Through on-set creative direction and post-production oversight, I ensured the execution aligned with our vision of showcasing relatable archetypes and culturally relevant hairstyles.

Visually, I crafted a world where each persona felt authentic, striking, and representative of the diverse ways consumers care for their hair. By leading with the solution first and positioning Dark & Lovely as a trusted ally, we ensured consumers felt heard, seen, and confident in finding solutions within the Dark & Lovely product suite.

As part of the campaign development and strategy, I conceptualized distinct, authentic archetypes that reflected the diverse ways consumers engage with protective styles—ensuring each persona felt both relatable and aspirational. These archetypes were thoughtfully paired with products from the new Dark & Lovely Protective Styles line, reinforcing the idea that every hair journey is unique and deserves tailored care. I carried this strategy through every stage of execution, from casting talent that embodied these personas to shaping the campaign storyline in a way that felt deeply personal and solution-driven. Beyond the hero campaign, I extended these archetypes into the social assets I designed, creating a seamless, multi-platform narrative that continued to engage and resonate with our audience.
